The convenient, flat access road and the car park directly in front of the hotel are very popular with guests, especially in winter. A brief history:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the 1960s, after the first lifts were constructed and the tourism area slowly took shape, Saalbach Hinterglemm experienced an economic boom thanks to decades of pioneering work by the locals. The Glemmtal became a popular winter and summer holiday destination for people from all over the world.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At that time Alfred&#8217;s grandparents, Rupert, and Maria Hollaus bought what is now Hotel Austria. In 1975, their son Adolf, together with his wife Paula, took over the hotel and transformed it into a beautiful guesthouse with 50 beds. Being hosts was their great passion. With a lot of work and diligence, the guesthouse was expanded with the neighbouring house in the 1980s, and thus a model business with 100 guest beds was created. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1997, his son Alfred took over the reins, and in 2007 the hotel was extended. Today, Hotel Austria accommodates 145 guests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><p>For over 55 years, the Hollaus family has managed to provide their guests with an unforgettable holiday.
